NRT play tries to recover Jesus' missing years

This weekend, No Refund Theatre will showcase Jesus, The Missing Years, a comedy about what might have happened between the years when Jesus was 12 and 30.

"The gospels lost track of Jesus for 18 years," said Nate Kushner, assistant director of the play. Jesus is a hypothetical story of what he did during that time, he said.

Kushner (junior-English) wrote the play with two other students — Mike Still (sophomore-philosophy and political science) and Luke Davin (junior-film and video and theatre).

The play focuses mainly on Jesus when he was 26 to 28 years old, said Still, the play's director. While it is not a musical, Jesus will feature several large dance numbers, he added.

The three-act play has a cast of about 22 with 40 different characters, Kushner said. The free performance starts at 8 p.m. tonight and tomorrow in 100 Thomas Auditorium.
