[Wednesday,
March 28, 2001 ] Today's
University Park forecast
Blue skies are expected today as a high
pressure system dominates our region. A deveolping low
pressure system near the Gulf Coast will bring the threat
of rain by late Thursday. Rain will become heavy Friday
morning, before a cold front passes Friday evening.
Behind this front, temperatures should not drop too low,
but expect showers from left over moisture.

Highlight
Although snow lovers in State College
may not have been satisfied with the past winter, ski
area operators in New England have had much to cheer
about thanks to this seasons snowfall amounts being
well above average. Skiers aren't the only beneficiaries,
as this season's decreased snowmaking will help aquatic
life in high elevation streams by keeping water levels
above normal.
