Letter to the Editor
PSU cannot simply ignore problems involving racism

In response to Mr. Spadafora's letter yesterday, I think he is completely wrong. You don't solve a problem by ignoring it or pretending it doesn't exist, which is exactly the idea I think you are suggesting. You cannot deny that racism is alive on this campus. The reason the Collegian prints students' accounts of racist occurrences on campus is because they want to let people know that these things are happening and hope people will do something about it. I am in disbelief that you could actually laugh at what is printed in this section. You may not think you are perpetuating the problem, but by trying to ignore it, you are solving nothing.
