Chamithra D. Perera (senior-journalism) has been awarded the 2001 Internship Award for Students of Color by the College and University Public Relations Association of Pennsylvania.

Chosen by the award selection committee among 24 statewide candidates, Perera will be lauded at the organizations annual spring conference.

She will receive $1,500 in addition to a professional communications internship within the next year.

The Internship Award for Students of Color was established to encourage minority students to consider careers in communications, particularly in public relations, by gaining valuable experience through internships.
