Mary Ann Stankiewicz, associate professor of art education in the School of Visual Arts in the College of Arts and Architecture, has been recently named president-elect of the National Art Education Association (NAEA).
At the commencement of this year's NAEA, a non-profit education organization, her term began.
This includes two years as president-elect, two as president and two as the past president.
Stankiewicz's book, Roots of Art Education Practice, released this month, focuses on historical precedents for professional practice in visual art education.
Stankiewicz was also awarded research grants from the College of Arts and Architecture and the Institute for the Arts and Humanistic Studies at Penn State last fall semester.
