Chinese student has pride despite many racist insults
While in the first floor hall of Gateway Apartments last Friday, I came across three men. They looked young, so I would say they are students, maybe my fellow Penn State students. As they almost walked by me, one of them said to me, "F you." Then, he continued with, "I'm going to f you up." He walked by with his friends with a disgusted look on his face. Thankfully, there were no altercations, so I really didn't care. Strangely, after a few seconds I heard him calling me a "Chinese shit" and that I was going to do some "kungfu." I'm definitely not happy with what he called me. But how in the world does he know I'm Chinese? Of all the Asian countries like Korea, Japan or Singapore, did he based his assumption on my yellow skin? Is this the American stereotypical thinking that those who are yellow are all Chinese? I hope not. I am an international student. Yes, I'm Chinese and I'm proud of it.
