SR-71, Dexter Freebish at Crowbar tomorrow night

The alternative rock foursome SR-71 lands at 8 p.m. today at Crowbar, 420 E. Beaver Ave., accompanied by Diffuser and Dexter Freebish.

CORRECTION: This article incorrectly stated the day of the SR-71, Dexter Freebish and diffuser concert at Crowbard, 420 E. Beaver Ave. The concert was yesterday.

SR-71, who took their name from the fastest airplane ever built, are known for the hit single "Right Now" off their summer 2000 release Now You See Inside.

The band has a punk sound spliced with mainstream rock that has gained them tremendous popularity both nationally and internationally. SR-71 is most often compared to bands such as Blink 182 and the Goo Goo Dolls.

The Baltimore natives also have a touch of British rock inserted into their music to pay homage to the band from which they have drawn their greatest influence, the Beatles.

This summer the band will be opening for Bon Jovi and will appear on the season finale of Baywatch Hawaii.

Dexter Freebish was most recently in the area for the Revfest 2000 last September, and they have also just finished their latest tour opening for Everlast. The band also scored a chart-topping hit with "Leaving Town," and are set to release a second single titled "My Madonna," off of their debut release A Life of Saturdays.
