Letter to the Editor
Lions' coach Jerry Dunn deserves praise, respect
After the Penn State men's basketball team's phenomenal success in the Big Ten and NCAA tourneys, I have a special request for all of those local geniuses who wrote letters calling for the dismissal of coach Jerry Dunn and to the ones who carried signs saying "One and Dunn": Would you please present yourselves at The Bryce Jordan Center to be fitted with your personal "Dunn-ce" hats to be worn around campus for the rest of the semester? Coach Dunn, the assistant coaches and the team have accomplished something unprecedented here and that all Penn Staters should be proud of and respect. Opponents may have had more height and more athleticism than Penn State, but none has had a bigger heart than Penn State, and the biggest heart of all belongs to our coach, Jerry Dunn. Whatever happens in Atlanta, all the country now knows that in basketball, too, "we are Penn State!"
