Starting March 30, instruction in lifeguard and water safety will be offered at the McCoy Natatorium.

Penn State's College of Health and Human Development and the Centre Communities Chapter of the American Red Cross will sponsor the three different courses.

Participants can choose from the following:

Lifeguard Academy: Lifeguard and CPR for the Professional Rescuer will be held March 30, 31 and April 1, 20, 21 and 22. This course is for strong swimmers who wish to certify as lifeguards.

Lifeguard Academy: Recertification will be held either March 30 and 31, and April 1 or April 20, 21 and 22. In this eighteen-hour course, currently certified lifeguards will be retested.

Lifeguard Academy: Water Safety Instructor will be held April 4, 6, 7 and 8. This course is designed to train current Water Safety Instructors (WSI) to teach WSI candidates swimming and water safety.
