Candidate running for district justice and USG

Penn State student Lauren Applegate (sophomore-film) announced yesterday she will run as a Student Party candidate for district justice.

She will face incumbent Carmine Prestia in November's election.

Applegate, a Nittany-Pollock Senator, is also running for re-election in the Undergraduate Student Government.

In USG, she also serves on the Legislative Appropriations and Review Committee, Senate Action Review Board and Political Action Lobbying Committee. Applegate is also a USG liaison and member of Pollock-Nittany Residence Association.

Applegate could not be reached for comment yesterday. A press release sent by the Student Party did not list Applegate's platform issues or reasons for running.
