Leonard J. Berkowitz, associate professor of philosophy at Penn State's York Campus, has been selected to receive the 2001 McKay Donkin Award given annually by the university.
The award recognizes the member of the faculty or staff who has contributed the most to the economic, physical, mental and social welfare of the faculty of Penn State.
The university-wide award was established in 1969 to honor the late McKay Donkin, vice president of finance and treasurer of the university from 1957 to 1968.
Berkowitz has been a faculty member at Penn State York since 1972. Presently, he teaches philosophy and a course in medical and health care ethics.
Berkowitz will receive the award during the university's awards reception on March 26 at University Park.
