Stolen property not worth damages done to vehicle
Waking up this morning to a call from Police Services is not the most pleasant way to start one's day. Apparently, some unknown amount of people decided that it would be profitable to break into cars parked up at Lot 80 N. I never really worried about my car all that much except for whether it would start or not. I never expected that my car would be a "victim" to a break-in. First of all, my car is old, there really is no point in me putting any sort of money into it other than to keep it running; it is just something to get me from point A to point B. Second, I was never really into putting anything flashy or expensive into something I spend the least amount of time in. Much to my surprise, someone decided to break into my car. Other people's cars were broken into; stereo systems were stolen, and I assume anything the thief or thieves thought valuable. They took my sleeping bag. Of all the things to break into a car for, like a parking permit, a Discman, CDs or maybe even a really expensive air freshener, they decided that they wanted my old blue, cheap sleeping bag. I find this entirely unbelievable. My cheap sleeping bag was enticing enough that whomever was responsible needed to break into my car and steal it? If you had asked, I would have just given it to you. Thank you to the persons who decided to cause me hundreds of dollars worth of damage just to get a $20 sleeping bag. Next time you people decide to break into a car and risk going to jail for something entirely stupid, at least make it worthwhile and leave my car alone.
