Suspicious Activity: The State College Police Department is advising residents to be wary of a possible phone scam. A resident of West Fairmount Avenue reported at 10:15 a.m. Friday that she received a phone call from someone who tried to collect for an unpaid newspaper subscription. However, the woman said, she later checked with the newspaper and her bill was paid in full.

Theft: A resident in the 300 block of West Nittany Avenue reported the theft of a wallet containing $300 in cash, State College Police said. The wallet was stolen from the victim's home on Thursday between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., according to police.

Accident: An accident involving two cars and a Centre Area Transportation Authority bus sent one man to the hospital Friday at 4 p.m. Christy Epperson, 22, of Bellefonte, was cited for speeding and a traffic control signal violation after she went through a red light at the intersection of East College Avenue and Pike Street. Epperson hit a CATA bus and another car. The driver of the car struck by Epperson was taken to Centre Community Hospital complaining of pain in his head. Both vehicles in the accident sustained moderate damage and were towed, while the CATA bus sustained minor damage. State College police said there were no passengers on the bus at the time.

Theft: Two signs, valued at $400, were taken from the 100 block of South Allen Street between 11:30 p.m. and midnight, the State College Police Department said. One was neon and said, "Sandra's Psychic Reading" and the other sign was a wooden, A-frame sign, police said.

Theft: An Aria acoustic guitar was taken Sunday between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. from a residence on the 900 block of Bellaire Avenue, State College Police Department said.

Accident: Two cars were towed Saturday at 6 p.m. following an accident in the 1300 block of East College Avenue, the State College Police Department said. Yevgeniy Bahmetob, 20, of State College was speeding and struck another vehicle, leaving 66 feet of skid marks. The driver of the other car was taken to Centre Community Hospital where she was treated and released for neck and shoulder pain.
