Some students are worried about the accessibility of the Greyhound bus station if it is moved off campus from its North Atherton Street location because of the West Campus expansion.
Although a new location is not yet definite, the bus station may be moved as far as University Park Airport.
Some students are upset about the possible move, especially about the distance from campus at which the bus station will be relocated.
"I think (the bus station) is very important for students. When you have your bags and you have to walk through the street to get over there, it's a hassle," Tianna Moore (junior-division of undergraduate studies) said. "If it's going to be near the airport, they should create some (way) for people to get out there."
Moore said she might attend the public hearing scheduled for April 25 at the State College Borough Municipal Building, which students are encouraged to attend to voice their opinions.
Brenna Dobromilski (junior-psychology) said transportation should be provided to get students to and from the bus station.
"I really couldn't use it if it was all the way out there. I use it because I don't have a car," she said.
However, some students said they won't be affected if the station moves. Not all students utilize the bus station's services, some because they have their own mode of transportation.
"It won't affect me. I have a car," Jaclyn Turri (senior-kineseology) said.
Others, such as Nathan Bodin (senior-premedicine), are less bothered because they are anticipating graduation this May.
"With a little forethought, anyone could get out there," Bodin said, suggesting students could catch a Centre Area Transportation Authority bus that runs to the airport.
"But, I'm out of here in May, so it doesn't really matter," he said.
