The two State College men accused of burglarizing a Cedarbrook apartment waived their right to a preliminary hearing yesterday.
Jason Britten, 24, and Marlon Penuela, 24, are charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, trespass, loitering and criminal mischief.
According to police documents, the two men forcibly entered the apartment March 5 by breaking a sliding glass door that faces the rear of the building. The men then walked out the front door of the apartment, stealing several items before taking the elevator to Penuela's girlfriend's apartment.
Both men are scheduled to have a pre-trial conference May 22.
Woman arrested for trying to obtain narcotics
A 29-year-old State College woman was arrested Tuesday after attempting to obtain narcotics from a hospital. Tammy Lee Lassman provided a false name at Centre Community Hospital to obtain the drug Demerol, the State College Police Department said.
Lassman used the name Terry Garcia and stated that she had a migraine headache and needed the Demerol, police said. A receptionist at hospital recognized Lassman from a previous visit, when Lassman had used the name Tammy Everidedge and listed an Arizona address, police said.
Lassman was charged with trying to acquire drugs by false means and arraigned before District Justice Allen Sinclair. Bail was set at $5,000 unsecured, and she was released yesterday morning.
