Gabriela Gonzalez, assistant professor of physics at Penn State, received the 2001 Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty in Underrepresented Groups from the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation. The award is given to junior faculty for researching and writing during a yearlong period to help them attain tenure. Gonzalez, who has been conducting experimental research focusing on gravity, gravitational waves and gravitational wave detection, will receive stipends for research, travel and publication.
