'15 Minutes'

Eastern European criminals, a headline-hungry cop, an unscrupulous news tabloid show and an underappreciated fire marshal — all key components to the plot of the newly released movie 15 Minutes.

The film stars cinema great Robert De Niro in the role of Eddie Flemming, a New York City detective who thrives on big cases and big headlines. Ed Burns plays Jordy Warsaw, a fire marshal who doesn't mind his anonymity but becomes intrigued by a new big-headline case. Kelsey Grammer plays Robert Hawkins, a news anchor bent on ratings.

Emil (Karel Roden) and Oleg (Oleg Taktarov) are two criminals from Eastern Europe who come to America in search of a former partner who has a cut of their money from a previous heist. Upon arrival they learn that their cut of the money has been spent, and they go on a killing rampage in order to become famous murderers.

The plan is to go on trial, plead insanity, get acquitted and make millions off of their movie and book deals. However, they have to go through De Niro and Burns first — something they are not afraid to try.

This movie has some great camera effects, and the unpredictable plot keeps audience members on the edge of their seats. Several funny lines keep the audience entertained and interested throughout the more than two hour-long flick.

Another great aspect of this film is the number of noteworthy stars. Charlize Theron, Kim Cattrall, Melina Kanakaredes and Roseanne are just a few.

If you are looking for a good time to pass the afternoon, then this is the movie for you, but it's nothing to write home about.
