Men charged in burglary of Cedarbrook apartment

Two State College men are scheduled for a preliminary hearing today for allegedly burglarizing an apartment in the Cedarbrook apartment complex, 320 E. Beaver Ave.

Jason Britten and Marlon Penuela, both 24, are charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, loitering and criminal mischief.

According to police documents, the State College Police Department found the suspects after seeing Penuela walk out of an apartment with blood on his hands. Officers later found Britten in another apartment. Both of the men admitted to entering the apartment after Penuela broke the glass door that faces the rear of the building. Once inside, the men stole various items and exited through the inside door and onto the elevator, police said.
