Police Log

  • Fire: A fire caused moderate to heavy damage to a house on the 800 block of South Pugh Street Sunday, the State College Police Department said.

    The Centre Regional Fire Marshall investigated and labeled the fire as a smoking related accident, police said.

    The residence was home to three Penn State students.

  • Fire: A Penn State staff member reported that a light pole was on fire between the Nittany Lion Inn and Rec Hall Friday, Penn State Police Services said.

    A member from the Office of Physical Plant cut the power to the pole, police said.

    No further damages were reported.

  • Theft: A Penn State student in Hartranft Hall reported items had been taken from his room after Spring Break, Penn State police said.

    Estimated cost of the stolen goods is $400.

State College police are located at 243 S. Allen St. in the Municipal Building.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
