Apple Computer has donated 40 desktop and laptop computers, a digital camera, and other related equipment for use in a new digital research lab in Patterson Building.
The Apple Digital Imaging Studio, scheduled to open in the fall, will support the new minor in digital arts and information sciences and technology offered jointly by the College of Arts and Architecture and the School of Information Sciences and Technology.
The colleges are also developing a digital technology major, scheduled to be available in late 2002.
The lab will be open to students when not in use by a class, and staffed by Center for Academic Computing employees.
