PSU student tells police he was attacked by 4 men

A 22-year-old Penn State student told police he was attacked early yesterday morning by a group of four men who stole his wallet, the State College Police Department said.

The victim told police that he was walking in the 100 block of East Fairmount Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. when the men approached him. The men hit the student in the face, threw him to the ground and continued to kick him prior to stealing the wallet, police said. The Alpha Community Ambulance Service treated the victim for abrasions on his left temple and for complaints of flashing eyesight.

Police said the victim was shown an identification book of suspects upon arriving at the station and was able to identify one of the suspects. Police located the suspect and found the other three.

All four men will be arraigned before District Justice Allen Sinclair and will be charged with robbery, aggravated assault and simple assault, police said. One of the actors is a juvenile and will be processed through the juvenile system. The men's preliminary hearing likely will be scheduled for Wednesday.
