Student bound over on Runkle Hall fire charges

A Penn State student accused of starting a fire in Runkle Hall was bound over on all charges yesterday at his preliminary hearing.

Christopher Sheluga, 19, was charged with arson, causing or risking catastrophe, recklessly endangering another person, institutional vandalism, criminal mischief, liquor law violations and disorderly conduct.

According to police documents, Sheluga admitted to setting a bulletin board on the first floor of Runkle Hall on fire.

The incident caused an evacuation of the entire dorm.

Sheluga will have a pre-trial conference in April.
