Olympic Games of 2008 should not be in China

The Olympic Games is the greatest global celebration of the nobility of the human spirit. At this time China is being considered as the site for the summer games in 2008. The government of China uses its political prisoners as bargaining chips to gain access to the advantages of the free world. Worse, and far out of sight, it continues its brutal oppression of Tibet through torture, imprisonment, forced labor and government-sponsored murder.

The spirit of the Olympics suffered greatly in the way the games were awarded to Salt Lake City. Awarding the games to the current government of China would further the decline the Olympics. It would be a repeat of the 1930s when the games were awarded to Hitler. If America is still a nation of character, then our answer to any games awarded to China must be boycott.
