Two men were charged Saturday in the weekend rape of a Penn State student.
Joshua DeNapoli and Kevin Root are accused of raping a woman at a Vairo Boulevard apartment in the early morning hours of Saturday.
DeNapoli, a Penn State employee, and Root, his cousin, who was visiting from Ohio, met the victim outside of Champs Sports Bar and Grill, 1611 N. Atherton St., and followed her and her friends to a house where the group sat and talked, Patton Township Police said.
According to police documents, the victim later went with DeNapoli and Root to DeNapoli's apartment on Vairo Boulevard where both men engaged in forcible sexual intercourse with her. The victim later called her friends who picked her up at DeNapoli's apartment and took her to Centre Community Hospital for a medical checkup.
The men told police they assaulted and had sexual intercourse with the victim. Root was charged with two counts of rape and one count each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and sexual assault. DeNapoli was charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault.
The two men were arraigned before District Justice Bradley Lunsford.
