Letter to the Editor
George Bush supporters mistaken about election
Wow! I cannot believe the garbage I read in last Tuesday's Collegian! As if Greg Sturges isn't making the school of my major look bad enough, we have Tara Maurer and Matt Zimmerman ensuring that my days of law school in the Ivy League will be filled with jokes about Dear Old State. Political science seemed like a useless major to me long before transferring here. For example, think of the letters written in support of George W. Bush by political science majors. Let me tell you how "fair" and "free" the presidential "selection" was, my GOP psychobabblers. The front page story in the Washington Post on Jan. 27 reported that following an investigation of all 12 counties that use "punch card" ballots, Gore got screwed out of 50,000 votes! There were thousands of ballots punched twice. Once for Gore and for political giants like Harry Browne and Socialist candidate David McReynolds. Yeah, predominately black voters in the heart of Clinton/Gore country are going to stand in line for two to five hours to cast votes for Harry Browne. In Palm Beach alone, because professional screw-up Theresa LaPore offset the candidate's names, 8,000 ballots were punched twice, clearly by voters attempting to vote for Gore, who then realized their mistake. Only the truly moronic would miss that. And apparently there aren't that many of you out there. Ninety percent of African Americans and 39 percent of all Americans in a Dec. 15 Gallup Poll say Bush did not win the election.
