Police search for suspects in Alley Cat burglary

A neighboring business owner reported a burglary at Alley Cat Music, 122 N. Atherton St. early Saturday morning, the State College Police Department said.

One guitar was stolen and two were seriously damaged, police said.

Someone smashed the glass on the front door, entered the business and ran off with three electric guitars. At least one male suspect was seen and pursued on foot by the neighboring business owner. The man dropped two guitars as he ran toward North Barnard Street. Another suspect ran off with a guitar and is suspected of driving off in a white or light colored vehicle with a New York registration, police said.

Police said the stolen guitar is worth approximately $650 and the two damaged guitars sustained $2,000 worth of damage.

Anyone with information concerning the burglary is asked to call Detective Joe Grego of the State College Police Department at 234-7150 or 234-7182.
