Letter to the Editor
People who protest Bush should simply 'get over it'
This is in response to two things: protesters on College Avenue and Allen Street on Monday and the letter in Tuesday's Collegian, "Opponents of Bush should accept presidency." To the protesters of Bush, I saw a sign that read: "This is not my president's day." This made me angry. Get over it. Bush was elected, and no matter how fair or unfair you think it was, he is our president. This is not the Separated States of America. He is our elected official (yours too), and we should stand behind him, no matter how unfair you think it is. He is here for four years whether you like it or not, so love it or leave it. I did not vote for Bush, and I am not a Republican, but he is our president, so I stand behind him, because he represents us. And for the Collegian letter, I was reading this and it was looking good until I read the second paragraph. To me, you are coming off as an angry Republican. To sit there and bash the Clinton-Gore administration and say that it's corrupt, immoral and tasteless is pessimistic. Like every other administration, there are bad things, but with this administration, there were so many more good things that came out of it. Do you acknowledge that, or choose to blind yourself? Anyhow, we are better off because of the Clinton administration.
