After serving a five-match suspension for unspecified team violations, Penn State wrestler Nate Parker has been reinstated to the team.
"After a number of meetings and a lot of discussions, that situation has come to a resolution," Penn State wrestling coach Troy Sunderland said. "We came to an agreement in which he can remain part of the team."
Sunderland would not release details of the team violations that warranted Parker's suspension. Parker also declined to comment on the situation.
According to Sunderland, Parker will wrestle off in the room this week to determine whether he will compete in the Big Ten tournament March 3-4 at Northwestern.
Parker's suspension began at the Iowa match Feb. 4. Before that match, he compiled a 12-7 record. At the time he led the team in points with 28. He is still the Nittany Lions only ranked wrestler, listed No. 18 at 141 pounds.
