Americans need to trust Bush's action against Iraq

I have heard with distaste enough animosity toward President Bush to write a series of encyclopedias. I was in Washington, D.C., this past weekend when I heard news that American warplanes were bombing Iraq. I wasn't surprised at all. I was, in fact, proud. I knew without having the details that President Bush had made a correct decision for an incident that might have escalated.

After finding out that the Iraq air defense systems were actively targeting allied warplanes after Bush had warned Iraq, I have no question that Bush made the right decision. I know President Bush; I was his director for youth in Pennsylvania. We might not be on a first name basis, but I have met the man enough and followed him at events during the campaign to know that he is highly intelligent and very diligent when he takes action.

For those who spit on the American military and our fine new president, I say to them this: Please go and change places with an Iraqi oppressed citizen who fears for his very life everyday from his government and military.

Go live in a country where the dictator of a leader kills people without remorse almost daily, even his own brother in law. Do this and then you have the right to make such judgments about our country and our president. I am sick and tired of hearing people whine and complain but have not a single ounce of courage to stand up for what they believe in.

Bryan McKinney
former youth director of Pennsylvania for Bush-Cheney Presidential Campaign
