Letter to the Editor
Thon 2001 was a success, thanks to the participants
To everyone involved with Thon 2001, I would like to say a big thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you to the overalls, captains, and committee members who rubbed feet, counted money, picked up trash, and kept the entire evening running so smoothly. Thank you to the dancers who sacrificed sleep and endured 48 hours of pain to help so many children realize their dreams for a cancer-free tomorrow. Thank you to everyone who has ever knocked on a strange door asking for a pledge or went canning for hours in the biting cold wind. Douglas K Freeman once said, "If you want to know the value of an individual, ask not for the sum of all that he owns, but look instead to the total of all that he has given." You have all selflessly given so much of yourselves to help others, and you should all be so proud of what you have accomplished this year. Congratulations, and thank you.
