Student on morale team inspired by Thon dancers
This year, I had a chance to be a part of Dance Marathon as a morale committee member. The dancers I was assigned to were an inspiration to me. I had never really considered dancing in Thon until this past weekend. I had worried of health problems during the 48-hour marathon, but after watching my dancers battle through with very little trouble, I think I might want to dance in the future. Every time I came on for my next shift, I was pumped up and ready to go, but almost every time, my dancers seemed even more energetic than I was. They showed me that dancing is a privilege that a dancer should appreciate and enjoy to its fullest extent. Everyone that was a part of Thon should be commended for their efforts, especially all the dancers and captains. As a university, we should try to break the $4 million mark next year. Just as the slogan for Thon 2001 states, the cure is "within reach," and so is 4 million dollars. Congratulations to everyone for helping to raise $3.6 million this year. We have all changed numerous children's lives.
