Penn State University Ambulance Service won four out of seven awards at a national conference earlier this month.
At the National Collegiate Emergency Medical Services Foundation's annual conference held from Feb. 9 to 11, emergency medical technicians from Penn State were honored with awards in four skill categories: communication, creativity, medical and trauma.
Some of University Ambulance Service's awards were for specific teams of EMTs. One of Penn State's teams, which included members Todd Wojtowicz, Lionel Tauszig and Nick Mangold, won first place overall, as well as first place in communication and trauma skill stations. Another Penn State team made up of Clay Ondrizek, Bryon Mushrush and Sundeep Ram, won third place overall.
More than 20 universities and colleges from the United States and Canada were represented at the conference, which was held in Rochester, NY.
