The Bhutanese film The Cup will be shown at 7 p.m. today in 110 Wartik as part of the International Festival, which lasts until Feb. 18.
The movie, which is Bhutan's entry into the Academy Awards' foreign language film category, tells the story of teen-aged Tibetan boys who flee Tibet and enter a Buddhist monastery. The young monks have a penchant for soccer and a strong desire to watch the final match of the World Cup.
The film screening is sponsored by the university's Office of International Programs International Students and Scholars unit. The movie has English subtitles and admission will be free.
