[Tuesday,
Feb. 13, 2001 ] Today's University Park
forecast
The mainly sunny and mild
conditions we are experiencing today will be shortlived
as rain moves into the picture for tonight and Wednesday.
A low pressure now in the Mississippi Valley is
responsible for the wet weather. Expect the unseasonably
mild temperatures to continue until Friday when a cold
front and associated precipitation push through.

Highlight
What started out as a cold and somewhat
snowy winter in State College has turned out to be rather
mild and snowless. The average snowfall in Happy Valley
is roughly 46, while just 15 has been
recorded thus far. The last significant snow fell on
January 21st, more than three weeks ago. Surprisingly,
areas in Eastern Pennsylvania that usually experience
less snow have received more than two feet this winter.
Even though no snow is in the current forecast, the
Groundhog promised us 6 more weeks of winter!
