Students using the Internet music service Napster are breathing a sigh of relief — for a short while at least.

University Park Allocation Committee will host a general information session at 8 p.m. tonight in the HUB Auditorium to help answer some of the questions about the recent depletion of funds and to clarify any misconceptions students may have about the way UPAC gives out money.

Penn State students announced Sunday their intent to form a "Student Party" in an attempt to obtain three State College Borough Council seats that will be on the ballot in November.

The Undergraduate Student Government Academic Assembly passed two bills and tabled, or postponed the vote, of one last night.

Hoping to prevent a relapse of the 1998 and 2000 summer riots, the State College Borough Council offered possible riot prevention ideas at a work session last night.

A state representative proposed legislation yesterday that would protect survivors of abuse and offered funding for a local shelter.

Eight Penn State students were in court recently, fighting for the right to break their lease because of health problems they believe make their house uninhabitable.



Nine vehicles parked on the 200 and 300 block of Toftrees Avenue were broken into Sunday night and had at least $4,000 worth of items stolen, the Patton Township Police Department said.

This past weekend, the boxing team proved that even when divided, it can stand.
