Letter to the Editor
Students need to choose new topics of discussion

Free speech — every college student's No. 1 topic. A close runner up is sex issues, including equality and rape, etc. Put them together and you get a super-topic more volatile than a train full of nitroglycerin crossing the Andes, evidenced by every Tom, Dick, and Harry weighing in on the subject in this "Letters to the Editor" section of the paper.

I think it's clear by now that no one has a great revelation that will cause everyone to think, "Oh yeah, Sex Faire and Cuntfest were really intellectually engaging and worthwhile" or "Oh yeah, Sex Faire and Cuntfest were really morally void and not useful at all."

I refuse to weigh in with my opinion, because it doesn't really matter, and I don't want to think about it any more.

Which brings me to why I am writing this letter. If this truly is an intellectually prosperous campus, I think we can move beyond this subject, which has been the main topic of the editorial section for what seems like about six and a half years now. Please, for the love of God, somebody write something else.

I don't even care if it's a Dubya bashing letter. I don't care if it's about circus animal abuse in Pakistan. Just pick a new subject.
