Police Log

  • Burglary: A resident of Beaver Terrace Apartments, 456 E. Beaver Ave., reported at 2:24 p.m. Sunday that an unknown actor entered an unlocked apartment and stole $2,950 worth of video games, the State College Police Department said.

  • Burglary/Theft: A visitor to Penn State reported at 7:59 a.m. Friday that he found a large framed picture of the 1998 Delta Delta Delta sorority members next to a dumpster outside Hiester Hall in Pollock Halls, Penn State Police Services said. The investigation revealed that the item was taken from a room in Hiester Hall between 12:30 a.m. and 7:50 a.m. Friday. The estimated value is $2,000.

  • Criminal Mischief: A staff member reported to Penn State police at 7:55 a.m. Friday that someone broke tree limbs from trees and knocked trees over sometime between 4:30 p.m. Thursday and 7:15 a.m. Friday in the area west of Bigler Road near the tennis courts. Estimated damage is between $250 and $500.

  • Criminal Mischief: At 4:04 a.m. Sunday, an anonymous caller reported that someone smashed out a four feet by two feet section of wallboard with his hands in Findlay Commons beside a public phone booth and threw the torn out sections onto the floor, Penn State police said. Police do not know when the incident occurred. Estimated damage is $300.

  • Criminal Trespass/Public Drunkenness: At 5:44 a.m. Sunday an intoxicated male entered a Hoyt Hall dorm room in South Halls and passed out on an unoccupied bed, Penn State police said. The individual was apprehended in the room and brought to Penn State police. The man, who is a Penn State student, was issued a citation and released to a friend.

  • Forgery: An employee reported at 11:40 a.m. Monday finding a counterfeit $10 bill in deposit money at Uni-Mart, 718 Bellaire Ave., State College police said. The investigation is continuing.

  • Harassment/Simple Assault: At 2:05 a.m. Saturday, a student reported that he was punched by an unidentified male at about 1:55 a.m. Saturday along Burrowes Road, Penn State police said. After receiving injuries to his head and face area, Penn State Ambulance Service transported the victim to Centre Community Hospital for treatment. The investigation is continuing, Penn State police said.

  • Simple Assault: A student reported to Penn State police at 12:28 p.m. Saturday that an unidentified male grabbed her by the throat and struck her head on a counter at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the sixth floor restroom of Sproul Hall in East Halls, Penn State police said. The student did not seek medical treatment at the time.

University police are located in the Eisenhower Parking Garage on campus.
