Faith-based organizations cannot get federal money

Faith-based organizations do many positive things for their respective communities. However, the main concern is that these groups are not government regulated, and do not have to follow civil rights laws such as non-discrimination acts and equal employment opportunities. Because they are religious groups, they can choose whom they will and will not help. How can public taxpayers' dollars support institutions that have free will to discriminate for numerous reasons, such as race, religion (or lack thereof) and sexual orientation?

If funds are given to churches and faith-based groups, will they have to adhere to all civil rights laws and government regulation of tax dollars? If so, that means government is involving itself in dictating religious policy. This is a violation of church and state.

We have a selected president who has Christian organizations pulling his puppet strings. His claim is to give back to communities. However, some of the Republicans in Congress who support this measure denied funding for Headstart, held the Violence Against Women Act hostage in the Senate and refused to address hate crimes legislation. This is an effort by the religious right in the United States that have moved into the "People's House" with their own agenda.
