Letter to the Editor
Those supporting Hooters do not state its benefits

Since a few days ago when Hooters announced that it no longer plans to set up in State College, I've heard and read countless protests against the protesters, as well as arguments defending Hooters' fine moral atmosphere, etc. Thank you to all the concerned citizens out there who have worked hard to clarify for the rest of us that Hooters is "no more immoral than guys looking at girls," that it is not, in fact, "a strip joint," and that female students sunbathing on Old Main Lawn are much more an example of the "degradation of women" than the Hooters uniforms, which apparently "aren't the most flattering things" anyway.

So, now that I've been fully educated on all the myths concerning the objectification of women that the infamous restaurant would not bring to State College, I'm just wondering (because it's missing from every argument so far): What exactly would Hooters bring to the area — if not "scantily clad" waitresses — that makes so many people so upset at the idea of it not coming?
