Henley to bring tour to the Jordan Center on an 'Inside Job'
The former Eagle will perform for an 'intimate' audience.

Don Henley may no longer be "livin' it up at the Hotel California," but on Feb. 28 he will be rocking The Bryce Jordan Center.

Henley, the former lead singer of the Eagles, is hitting State College as part of the Inside Job Tour. Inside Job was released last summer and, although the record sales are not astonishing, the reviews give it great praise.

This show will be the first time Henley has graced the center since 1996 as part of the Eagles' Hell Freezes Over Tour, which was limited to only eight cities. This tour is also limited to a few cities, and State College was added in response to popular demand, according to Bernie Punt, director of public relations for the center.

Tickets for the show are a bit more expensive than most concerts at the center, but according to Punt that's because Henley is an "expensive artist."

Also, the show will only have a capacity of 5,000 seats.

"Due to the size, this will be a smaller, more intimate show — which is the trend in the industry today," Punt said.

Henley has recently been nominated for two Grammy awards in the categories of Best Pop Vocal Album for Inside Job and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Taking You Home."

In a press release by Henley's label, his recent album comprises "a diary of sorts — a chronicle of the past 11 years."

Henley has had the most successful solo career of all the Eagles. After the group's break-up in 1982, he released his first solo album Can't Stand Still, which produced the hit single "Dirty Laundry." Henley made two other solo albums, which also experienced tremendous success. "The End of the Innocence," "Boys of Summer" and "All She Wants to Do Is Dance" are among the many successful tracks Henley recorded during his solo career.

His original popularity was gained with the Eagles. Henley was lead vocal for such classics as "Hotel California," "Desperado," "Life in the Fast Lane," "One of These Nights" and "Witchy Woman."

The Eagles were one of the most successful bands of the 1970s with five No. 1 singles and four No. 1 albums. Two of their albums, Eagles: Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 and Hotel California, rank among the 10 best-selling albums ever, according to the certifications of the Record Industry Association of America.

Tickets can be purchased at the center, Eisenhower Auditorium, selected Uni-Mart ticket outlets, Commonwealth ticket outlets, or charged by phone at (800) 863-3336, locally at (814) 865-5555 or online at www.bjc.psu.edu.

The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets cost $46 for regular seating and $66 for Gold Circle seating.
