Adding yet another show to its lengthy live history, the Pat McGee Band will play an all-ages show at 9 p.m. Monday night at Crowbar, 420 E. College Ave. Tickets can be purchased for $10.
The band recently departed on its winter tour across the country to further promote Shine, its first album on the Warner Brothers label. Released on April 11, the CD debuted on the Billboard 200. The latest single "Rebecca" is also appearing on Progressive Rock charts.
The band formed in Richmond, Va. in 1996 with members Pat McGee (vocals, guitar), John Small (bass), Jonathan Williams (keyboards, piano, vocals), Al Walsh (guitar, vocals), Chardy McEwan (percussion) and Chris Williams (drums). Averaging about 250 concerts a year, the band has toured incessantly, building a strong fan base, especially on the East Coast.
The band's first album, Revel, was released independently in February 1997 and has sold more than 100,000 copies. More releases have followed with a live CD in late 1998, General Admission, and, most recently, Shine.
College students across the country enjoy the acoustic jam-rock style of the Pat McGee Band and its energized performances. This is a direct result of the band's grassroots efforts to build its recognition.
The Pat McGee Band commemorated the release of Shine last April in State College with an in-store appearance at Mike's Movies and Music, 210 E. Calder Way, and then played a show that night at the Crowbar.
