Gary Killian and Dennis Murphy of the College of Agricultural Sciences were recently named distinguished professors by the university.
Killian directs the John O. Almquist Research Center (formerly the Dairy Breeding Research Center) and pioneered the Governor's School for Agriculture.
Murphy contributed to the Pennsylvania Farm Safety and Health Quiz Bowl and provided background data for the Farm Safety and Occupational Health Act. He also received the Packer Safety Engineering Award.
The title of distinguished professor was established by the Office of the President to recognize professors for their achievements in teaching and research.
