Hooters no more immoral than guys looking at girls
I'm sure that many people have heard that Hooters will not be moving into the State College area. It appears that too many people are up in arms over the "degradation of women" that goes on in such an establishment. Have these people ever been to a Hooters restaurant? What do they honestly think goes on there? Anyone who has ever been inside a Hooters knows that there is nothing immoral to speak of. Sure, a bunch of guys hang out together, eat and drink, and ogle at the girls. And they do that at bars, in class and walking down the street. News flash: Guys like to look at pretty girls. Just wait until the warmer weather sets in and the girls lay out in bathing suits on any grassy spot on campus. Will we be reading articles describing the degradation of women around campus? Does anyone seem to notice that girls wear far more revealing clothing while going to a party? There is no outrageous behavior going on at Hooters. I suggest that these protesters stop worrying about the integrity of downtown State College. Any town where buses come to sudden halts because an idiot decides to stand in the street and moon the Loop while eating a slice of pizza has no outstanding integrity anyway. Guys are pigs, and girls like to make us look. When Hooters finally finds a location in State College, it will make a killing.
