Super Bowl entertaining for fans, 'football purists'
In response to Joshua Miller's piece that said he wanted his Super Bowl Sunday back because it was unpleasant, I must say that I personally enjoyed it, as most football fans did as well. Miller called the Super Bowl boring, but I have to disagree. There was defense, offense and special teams. There were three touchdowns scored within a minute: an interception return and two kickoff returns. If that is not exciting, I don't know what is. Miller says defense is boring to watch. Well not for the true football purists. A scoreless game is pretty exciting in my mind, where one mistake or big play wins the game. As for his comment about the halftime show, I have to disagree again. I suppose Miller says it is a "big cacophonous slop" because claiming it was entertaining just would not fit into his always-cynical opinions. But any show with Britney Spears wearing tight pants is quality television programming. I had a great Sunday night, watching for the most part a competitive football game and a halftime show with a beautiful half-naked women.
