Some residents disrespect Penn State's student body
I continue to try to validate the hatred that some State College residents hold against the students of Penn State. But the only reason I come up with is jealousy. We have the State College Borough Council that imposes blanket stereotypes on undergraduate students. New graduate student housing is completely safe, but once those younger students come in you'd better bring out the National Guard – or so they tell it. We have some landlords who are not only arrogant, but will stop at nothing to screw their student tenants. My house has had a leaky roof since October. "Hi, this is Ryan. It's raining inside. Can you do something about it?" The landlord's response: "We'll have to charge you for letting it leak." Some of the adults I use the term loosely in State College, who are so biased, so amoral and so unprincipled that they let situations like those mentioned above occur need to stop. Unfortunately, until they do, the students will get screwed.
