A Montoursville man charged with robbing a fraternity at gunpoint Dec. 16, 1999 will have his preliminary hearing today.
Zachary Henley, 19, was arraigned Dec. 28 and is charged with several counts of robbery, criminal conspiracy, theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, simple assault, harassment and stalking, false imprisonment, recklessly endangering another person and unlawful restraint.
Henley received one count each on the charges of burglary, aggravated assault, criminal trespass and possessing instruments of crime.
According to police documents, several men entered room 18 of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, 351 E. Fairmount Ave., holding guns while demanding money from the victims.
One of the victims went to the back of the room and opened a safe that contained drugs and money, handing it over to one of the men. When one victim tried to escape the men physically attacked him and hit him in the head with a gun that caused a head laceration.
Henley told police he was in the car with three of the men who robbed the fraternity house.
The men were driving from Williamsport to State College to take some money off "a guy named Lum," Henley said. Henley told police the men involved in the robbery had gone to the area near Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity in two vehicles.
Henley said that although he stayed outside, he was able to see the events through the window of the house. Henley told police he saw a man with a shotgun and five or six other men run up the stairs of the fraternity house.
