Attention-worthy good guys hard to find around here

Good guys, eh? OK, here's the basic problem with Mr. Law's theory for all you amazingly overlooked sensitive dudes out there and for all the women who read his article and gave a collective: "Awww! That is like, so sweet!"

Admittedly, most women do not expect to find beautiful, storybook relationship types in a crowd of men french kissing beer bongs. We don't go out and get "Betty Ford hammered" because we believe this is a formidable way to meet Mr. Almost-Sorta. However, there is something mildly redeeming about a guy who tries to impress you with his ability to count to 10 and the amazing tuck job on his T-shirt that you just can't find in a "good guy."

I mean, sure, I'd take the guy who sews corduroy patches on his pants any day. But if you do actually work up the nerve to go over and talk to him, you then have to sit through an entire "Dark Side of the Moon" rendition on his acoustic guitar.

Or take the amazingly adorable and still underrated punk-rock boy. Yeah, I'm sure he has lots to offer, but you won't find out what that is until you've listened to his Sensefield or Deftones album and read 12 of his poems that contain the word esoteric in every other line.

Point is, sometimes women like to take the easy road, wasting our affections on boys who we know don't have the brain power to remember our names in four hours, because at least then we don't have to worry about them actually calling.

Do good guys exist? Sure they do. Do good guys who don't want to dump all their mind-numbingly traumatic stories about what led them to (insert music genre here) exist? I'm looking into it.
