Penn State's billion-dollar fundraising campaign has a new chairman.
Jim Broadhurst, a 1965 Penn State graduate and chairman and CEO of Eat 'n Park Hospitality Group Inc. has been selected to lead the Grand Destiny campaign.
Broadhurst replaces Edward Hintz, who was elected Friday to be chairman of the Penn State Board of Trustees.
The Grand Destiny campaign began in 1996 and is scheduled to run until June 30, 2003.
In 1999, the university announced a fund-raising goal of $1 billion for the campaign. At the end of 2000, the campaign had already brought in $875 million.
