Today's University
Park forecast
The
cloudy conditions that prevailed over Happy Valley yesterday will be ushered
out of the area today by warmer southwesterly winds. A cold front
now in the Midwest will bring the clouds back for Wednesday and colder
air will settle in behind it for Thursday. Temperatures will warm
toward the weekend as a broad area of high pressure dominates the Eastern
seaboard.

Weather Highlight
For the first time in roughly five years, the western
end of Lake Erie has become a hot spot for ice fishing. During the
month of December, unseasonably cold temperatures created a thick sheet
of ice, extending four miles from the Ohio shore. The frozen lake
has also attracted snowmobilers and airboaters from all around.
