Athletes, honors students deserve early registration
If registration was equal, the probability of Tracy Wilson being able to participate in a dance class would increase. However, simple math will illustrate that eliminating one of the only measures universities nationwide enforce to help their respective athletes and honors students to meet the academic demands they place upon them will not solve the real problem. Moreover, a student's inability to register for a class is a result of limited class availability. Regardless of when these "privileged" students register, the problem will persist. Although Wilson claims early registration is an unnecessary perk, Penn State believes the demands of practice, traveling and research that student athletes and honors students must balance with their academic career is an obvious, legitimate reason for utilizing early registration. If you want the registration process to be fair, I suggest you research things such as class size, course offerings and faculty numbers. Also, if you want to understand the worth of your expensive degree, learn to appreciate the tremendous contributions student-athletes and honor students bestow on this university. You will find their contributions will serve you far better in the job market than any class.
